Viking Settler

Suitable for: Key Stages 1 and 2

Duration: 3 Hours

Meet Holmvi and learn about everyday life for Vikings in England. 
Life wasn't all raiding. Experience life as a Viking child by preparing food, weaving cloth, playing games and treating wounds. 

Activities Include:

  • Interactive introduction to Viking life.

  • Choosing a Viking name.

  • Grinding corn on a quern stone.

  • Writing and solving runic messages.

  • Spinning and weaving wool.

  • Learning how to play hneftafl.

  • Making a clay pot to take home.

  • Taking part in an Viking court.

  • Trying out real Viking first aid.
