About Unravelled Learning

Unravelled Learning is run by Holly Medland.

I believe that immersive interaction with heritage and nature is important to children by developing confidence, creativity and an understanding of and respect for the world around them.

Over the past ten years, I have incorporated this belief into my work as an Education Officer in a variety of heritage and outdoor settings including Imperial War Museum Duxford, Chiltern Open Air Museum and Branstone Farm. During this time, I was able to see first hand how even the most unenthusiastic learners became inspired by taking part in hands-on activities.

I have also run a number of family events, aimed at getting children outside and exploring the natural environment and history of the people who lived there. The most recent events, at Cockleton Meadow on the Isle of Wight, were very well attended, received very positive feedback and encouraged regular use of the meadow by local families.
